Yay! You found me! I am so glad that you are here.
I feel as though the beginning of this blog started when I was in third or fourth grade. (Crazy, I know). I loved to write. I have always loved to write. I wrote ridiculous (and rather bad, I might add) stories – stories about my brother, whom I wanted to know better (he is 15 years older than me), stories about my pets, and stories about my home life (I was realistic fiction all the way).
Once I hit seventh grade, I took our state test in reading, mathematics, and writing, and let’s just say, I am really bad at math. BUT, I am really good at reading and writing – advanced in one and distinguished in another.
As time went on, I entered high school (still loving to write, but doing it much less) and as I was nearing my senior year (with absolutely zero idea as to what I wanted to do in college) my mother continuously told me she thought I was going to be a journalist. At the time, I scoffed at her thinking, I would never be a journalist. However, she wasn’t wrong that my life as a writer would not end there.
That brings us to the present .. mostly. By trade, I am an English teacher, but by heart, I am simply a reader and a writer. I write copious amounts of reviews on a book review platform; I aspire to be a children’s author (I have an idea for a book, just not a current plan for execution); and I have been talking about trying to create a blog for almost two years. Well, now is the time. And I am so happy that you are here on this journey with me.
What you will encounter here will hopefully be incredibly useful. Over the past few years, small bits of my life have changed for the better. As I have grown as a person, I have continuously reflected upon departing the positive elements within my life, and how much I want to share that knowledge with others (as said before, I am a teacher by trade). My dream is for this blog to be a place you come to often; to lend you small morsels of ah ha moments; to devote some learning to health, which in turn leads to happiness. Because it really is in the small moments, that great change occurs.
Which is why I challenge you to join me. Let’s walk together in creating change. Not big change – not yet – but change that adds up before you even realize that life has become easier. It has become happier. It has become all things in good health.
Oh! But before I go – what about the rest of my life?? I am a mother (albeit, sometimes a cranky one, but I am working to change that), a wife (going on 15 years), a perpetually cold individual (I mean in temperature, but some may say in other ways as well), and someone who thinks people can become better through education, and by taking baby steps towards their own sense of happiness.
